The population of people aged 40+ is larger than ever before. Too many women over 40 feel invisible and ignored, not listened to, and are too beautiful not to be celebrated. Ladies, this is your time to shine!

Through this 40 over 40 Project, together we can show that beauty doesn’t diminish with age. Let’s highlight your character, wisdom, and spirit. I would love to showcase your beauty, strength, and wisdom even if you haven’t seen it with your own eyes yet or felt it in your soul.

Do you want to share your story through a portrait session?

Then this is for you!

Are you a supermom in her 40’s, running her entire household? Do you run your own company? Maybe you are going through a life change? Whatever your journey, I welcome you all! I would love to photograph a variety of women.

Let’s celebrate YOU: where you’ve been, what you’ve gone through, the challenges you’ve overcome, what your dreams and passions are, what your hobbies or interests are, and the life you lived…. What makes you… YOU.

Not only will this project help empower other women, but it will also help support a fabulous local charity: Dress For Success Wichita. I will donate $50 from each session to this wonderful charity!

Why the 40 over 40 project, why me and why now?

Hi, I’m Yvette, the one behind the camera. I turned 50 in 2023…and  I can look back and acknowledge how much I have grown and changed throughout the years. With every new challenge I’ve encountered, I’ve become braver and found my own voice.

I love creating beautiful portraits of everyday women allowing you to awaken your inner cover girl and boost your self-confidence. Women over 40 are interesting and fun and wise and simply inspiring. I am super excited about this project and curating stories of women from different backgrounds to show how amazing life can be.

This is not only about pretty photos, this is also about embracing our imperfections and uniqueness and sharing stories that will inspire our community.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

I’m offering this 40 over 40 project special for only $490 + tax (regular price $790, value priceless).

 

As one of my ’40 over 40’ women you will receive:

  • An in-home pre-session style and wardrobe consultation. This is when we’ll discuss how you want to be photographed, and details for the day. I will customize your session to suit YOU! It can be as glam, quirky, or casual as you choose! This is also a great moment to discuss any fears you may have.
  • Complimentary hair and make-up by my professional hair and makeup artist, on the day of the photoshoot (you will feel amazing!)
  • A customized in-studio portrait session is all about YOU where I will pose you down to your expressions and fingertips! 
  • A reveal and ordering appointment for you to see all your beautiful photographs and order your favorite portraits.
  • $500 image credit, each printed portrait includes the matching digital.

Bonus:

  • A gorgeous magazine with a portrait and write-up of all women who participated. This will be created at the end of the project and will showcase YOU & your story, as well as all the other incredible women who participated. 
  • $50 from your session fee will be donated to ‘Dress For Success Wichita’.

To showcase the project please note:

  • Your photos along with your story will be published on my website as well as on social media.
  • You will be interviewed before and/or after the photoshoot for you to share your views about being a woman over 40 as well as your photoshoot experience. 
  • Before and After makeover photos may be shown on social media and/or on my website.

More details….

  • The session fee of $490 must be made in order to hold your booking spot. This retainer is for the date specified and is non-refundable. Only one reschedule is allowed with a 2-week notice, I want to be respectful of others in The 40 Over 40 Project & my hair & makeup artist, and my time is limited!
  • To participate, you need to be able to come to my studio in Wichita.
  • Must participate in in-person pre-session consultation, photo shoot, interview, and photo reveal appointment to view final portraits, this is in-person (no online galleries available).
  • A signed model release is required.

FAQ

You can share the experience with one additional family member or keep it all for yourself.

For family members who require hair and makeup, there is an additional charge of $125.

Don’t worry – so many women feel this way. It’s not your job to be photogenic, it’s my job as your photographer to help you feel comfortable so you look and feel amazing!

Your weight is the least interesting thing about you. Also, your family doesn’t care what size you are, they love you just the way you are. Let’s focus on making you feel and look amazing.

You won’t have to worry about looking or feeling awkward in front of the camera. I will take good care of you.

You can wear up to 4 outfits in your shoot. I always suggest going for a range of different outfits: casual, personal branding, flirty, fun, sexy, full glam. Anything that makes you happy and you love wearing.

We’ll discuss this during your pre-shoot consultation.

The short answer is Yes!

The long answer is: camera-ready makeup will help balance skin tones, and hide those under-eye bags. Also, this helps your eyes pop!

You can choose the ‘no makeup natural look’ or go full glam, this is totally up to you.

I’m a firm believer in looking like yourself and we’ll make sure you love your makeup before we take photos!

Absolutely! The more the merrier. It would be amazing to have your friends be part of this project. So definitely spread the word.

I love printed products and I wanted some way of commemorating this experience for all the participants. Each participant will get a page or spread with their image and an excerpt of their story.

The magazine will be created at the end of the project when 40 women are photographed.

My photoshoots take place on weekdays and are strictly by appointment. Availability is first-come, first-served. During our first call, we can look at available dates and get your session and pre-session consultation scheduled.

Absolutely! I work hard to create images you love and you are more than welcome to purchase more images if you’d like.

Individual images start at $250 and collections start at $1490.

Most clients spend between $1490 and $6000 on their custom photography.

I have worked hard to source premium quality products that will last and that you can hand down to the next generation one day. I offer a variety of options including matted prints, folio boxes, and albums. You can see and feel these products when you come in for your photoshoot.

I also offer framed wall art and we can discuss those options during the pre-shoot consultation.

All photoshoots take place at my private studio in Wichita KS.

Please note, my studio is a home studio and you must be able to walk stairs to enter the studio.

While I hope this won’t happen, I totally get that life happens! I book my time and my hair & makeup artist’s time for your photoshoot.

You can reschedule once with at least a 2-week notice. If we have less than 2 weeks’ notice (or this is the second time you are rescheduling), there is a $250 rescheduling fee.

Emergency reschedules will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

During our pre-shoot consultation, we’ll discuss how you dream of being photographed. You’ll be able to bring up to 3-5 different looks. I will guide you so you choose clothing that looks fabulous on you and photographs well. Most women have items in their closet that would work just fine for a shoot.

Maybe a friend has an amazing dress you could borrow. You could even rent some amazing gowns and looks from Rent the Runway.

No matter what you wear and what you’ll bring, we’ll have a fun time!
