From idea to finished product

In our studio we compose, arrange, record, mix and produce. If you want us to

  • turn your home-made recordings in radio-ready tunes,
  • finish your song idea,
  • compose and create music for your project,
  • record you because you lack the equipment/expertise for professional recording,

…we will make that a reality. Besides recording in our studio, there is no need to travel; we work remotely and can communicate via Teams, Zoom, email, or phone.

Composing & Arranging

We can assist at any stage of the creative process, whether you have a concept, lyrical ideas, a melody, a riff, or a full production in mind. We also compose and create music from scratch to support all your media objectives.

Recording

If you need to record professional-sounding vocals or acoustic guitars for your home productions, get in touch. We can help with tricky areas and reduce studio costs for large projects. Our acoustically treated recording room creates a tight sound that can be adjusted to suit different genres. It also provides an articulate vocal space, enhancing microphone clarity without the claustrophobic feel of smaller booths.

Mixing & Mastering

Audio mixing is essential in music production. We will add the final polish, making tracks radio-ready. Our expertise and convenience provide high-quality mixing accessible to all musicians, saving time and resources. A good mix will elevate any musician’s work.

About me

I began my musical journey at nine in Limburg, The Netherlands, where I learned to play various instruments and developed skills in Harmony and Voicing. After earning my Engineering Masters degree, my wife and I moved to the UK in 2000 and then to the USA in 2009. My wife founded a Photography Studio in 2011, and I joined her to add music services. Our company, Orange Sun Studio, has served many satisfied customers. Music has enriched my life, and I have formed lasting friendships through playing in bands and orchestras in several countries.

Experience as a musician and composer:

  • Orchestra L’Union, The Netherlands
  • Street band Sjeng en de Kroatekop, The Netherlands
  • The Boogie Wonder Band, Disco/R&B, The Netherlands
  • WW Band, Ska/Reggae, The Netherlands
  • Zekut es gauw, Folk band, The Netherlands
  • Bluesband Red Wagon, The Netherlands
  • Alliance Orchestra, The Netherlands
  • Waterside Orchestra LondonDerry, Northern Ireland, UK

FAQ

Ensure all files submitted are .WAV minimum 24bit 44.1kHz and are clearly labelled with all tracks starting from bar 1. Let me know if you only have MP3 so we can see what we can do.

Each track needs to be completed. We will not re-arrange. Do not Dither.

The most common format we receive is 48.1 kHz resolution at a bit rate of 24 in a WAV format.

Unless the effects are integral to the track from a sound design perspective, we prefer dry stems and use your rough mix as a reference to apply our own effect choices.

We will add high end brand reverb, compression etc. as needed. If you need a certain effect on a track please send the same track (dry) without the effect as well.

Vocals are essential, so we spend a lot of time on them to make them perfect. Once we have listened to your vocal tracks, we will let you know if they need extra work.

Tracks with vocals, guitars, bass, horns, strings, hand percussion, and all drum elements should be recorded in mono. Drum rooms and overheads should be in stereo. Piano, synths, organs, or stems should also be sent in stereo.

No Clipping! Leave about 10-12 decibels below clipping.

For acoustic guitar: Send tracks using properly placed microphones and a DI track if possible. Submit them without effects, or provide a dry version. Keep levels low to avoid clipping.

For electric guitar: Any tracking method works, but include a DI track if possible. Submit tracks without DAW effects, or provide a dry version. Keep levels low to avoid clipping. We have top-of-the-line effects and simulators available if needed and approved by the artist.
